TESTIMONIALS & REVIEWS Christian said... November 20, 2018 We absolutely enjoyed our stay and your hospitality. Hike was great. Fire was awesome until the rain. Retreated into the RV and had a fantastic meal with your steaks as the headliners!! Thank you again. We will absolutely provide a review on harvest hosts. Not sure we belong to any other rv sites yet. Thanks again!! Much appreciated and we hope to stay at your place again in the future. Lorrie said... November 6, 2018 I've been traveling the country in my 34' fifth wheel trailer since the beginning of August using a couple different app's to locate RV sites. Walnut Hollow Ranch came into view and a quick look at the photo's and description had my attention. Charlie Kissling (owner) promptly responded and got me booked for a week's stay. I ran into some issues (one being Hurricane Michael) which delayed my arrival and Charlie quickly made adjustments to accommodate. He offered much appreciated advice on towing through the mountains and told me exactly where to bring my rig once I arrived. Access to the ranch was easy and I knew I had made the right choice as I came down the beautiful tree lined drive and gazed up into the mountains surrounding the ranch. Charlie was preparing to leave when I arrived but he stopped to introduce himself and welcome me before turning me over to his friendly and capable ranch help, Randy and Carol who helped me get my trailer into one of three spacious water/electric sites on the pad behind the pole building. My site had spectacular 360 views of the ranch, surrounding mountains and oh, the sunrises! I could not believe my luck - the campsite was beautiful, clean, and serene. I frequented the awesome hiking trails that Charlie maintains which climb up the mountain and run completely around the inside rim of the ranch. Besides being a good cardio workout, the views are even broader and more spectacular from those vantage points. After a couple days of hiking and nights spent star gazing and sleeping like a rock, I inquired about extending my stay another week to continue exploring the area and the ranch itself. Charlie was an excellent host providing tips to the campers on things to see in the night sky. He also provided education about humane and sustainable cattle ranching, land preservation efforts in the mountains, and much more. He provided suggestions for things to see and do in the area based on things I expressed interest in. Randy and Carol were so friendly and took great care of the campground (and put up with all my questions about towing a fifth wheel!!). All of them were available but never invasive. I will definitely come back to Walnut Hollow - it hit all of my requirements for a perfect RV camping experience and I have so much more to see and do in the area. Keep of the great work team Kissling! ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lea said... July 29, 2018 We had a WONDERFUL restful weekend here at Walnut Hollow; plus had the best New York Strip steak we've ever had! Very peaceful, quiet area, and loved our morning walks enjoying nature. We fished, hung out in a hammock, enjoyed our firepit and just had a wonderful time walking around visiting all the animals. Definitely a great spot to recharge. Our full review with pics can be found @GoTravelLife David said... June 26, 2018 We recently had the extreme pleasure to camp with Walnut Hollow Ranch for 10 blissful days while we attended workshop classes at nearby JC Campbell College. Camping with Charlie is like camping with family. Everything about the campground, the barns, and the ranch itself is pristine , including the planted flowers and plush grass. We camped in a 42' MotorCoach with 4 slides. Charlie parked us on white level concrete with full hookups and a glorious ranch view out our front big windshield. It was captivating to watch the activities of the ranch and the cattle themselves. We purchased some of the Angus grass fed beef and it was superb to the taste. If we are camping again within 50 miles of Walnut Hollow. I will go out of my way that much just camp with Charlie and Walnut Hollow Ranch. Alice said... May 10, 2018 A peaceful and restful environment to spend a few days. We parked our Motor Home where we had a lovely view of the pastures. Purchased a Rib Eye Steak from Charlie and it was honestly one of the best steaks ever! Lisa said... March 26, 2018 WHAT a beautiful place and nice owner. We camped here for a week in our motor home. 30 amp electro and water at the site, laundry machine and dryer cost extra but good. Lots to do around here in the outdoors but hanging out here is beautiful. Bob and Cheryl said... August 15, 2017 July 2017. What a great spot. Planned to stay two days and we extended to a week. Great location. You look out over farm land and cattle. Charlie is the perfect host. We got a tour of the ranch and schooled on specialized beef cattle. What a treat! Lots of things to see in the area. We took many day trips. Take Charlie’s recommendations on what to see. Don’t miss the winery and their Friday dinners. John c Campbell folk school is nearby. It’s open for visitors to drop in on classes. It’s very welcoming and reminds me of a summer camp for adults. Check their evening schedule. They have community music entertainment and contra dancing. They will teach you how. It was a fantastic time. We will be back. Teresa and Marc said... July 22, 2017 Stayed one night in our RV, beautiful property within an hour of waterfalls. From the store the brats and hamburger patties we bought were delicious wish I would have bought more to take home. Staff was very friendly and accommodating . Any time passing through North Carolina I would definitely stay here again and be sure to stock up on the meat. Morris said...
